We have a patient who is being seen at home because he has agoraphobia. The MD listed the reason for being seen agoraphobia, joint pain and muscle pain. The patient sees a behavioral therapist for the agoraphobia. I was told that the primary dx is agoraphobia because that is the reason he is being seen at home. The patient was actually being seen that day for joint and muscle pain. Can anyone tell me the correct primary dx for this patient or at least point me in the direction of where I can find this information?
