How can I convince my supervisor to allow the coders to work from home?

I work as a coder in an outpatient billing office that is part of a fairly large hospital system. We code for outpatient doctors offices. We have 4 coders that currently work in our billing office and all of us are interested in working from home. All of the hospital coders work from home, at least 4 days a week. How can I try and convince my supervisor to allow us to work from home too...at least a few days a week? The computer system we work on will allow us to work remotely.

Has anyone else had any luck doing this? Any advice on how to approach this? Statistics on increased productivity?
