Hello,

How do I get CPT code 99050 paid? The doctor is seeing patients on Saturdays, which is outside his normal hours (he's a special needs doctor).

I maybe get 2 out of 10 paid.

I'm coding it along with wither a well patient E/M, or either the Est. Patient O/V.

Advice please.:confused:

I usually send a letter with an appeal for the reimbursement explaining why the visit was necessary and that the patient could have been sent to the ER instead. Being a special needs doc, you can explain why this patient was better served in the office than the ER or regular office hours. I almost always get paid on appeal.
