We are trying to figure out how to bill for Mental health Skills outpatient offe and in home (12).

Is there a stand alone code ?

Or do we bill a 90832 with a 90833 and bill for 30 min each to total a 1 hour visit .?.

this would be performed by a licensed Behavioral Health Professional .

Not sure what you mean by "Mental health Skills," but...

You cannot bill a 90832 and a 90833 together. A 90832 code is used to document a psychotherapy session that lasts between 16 and 37 minutes. There are other codes that cover sessions that are 38-52 minutes long and 53+ minutes long. A 90833 may only be used by a physician (or other provider who may see patients independently for medical appointments), and it can only be used as an add-on code to an E/M code. So, if your provider cannot bill E/M codes, they cannot use these add-ons. If you don't have a code book, or access to an online equivalent, this should be one of your top priorities.

You will need to check with each of your payers to see if they require modifiers, or other CPT codes to document services that take place in a patient's home.
