My MFM provider saw a patient for preconception counseling for risk of AMA during pregnancy. The patient is not pregnant yet, she is 46 years old and doing donor egg. She has no other diagnosis or medical problems except infertility but we cannot use that since the visit will not be covered. My understanding is AMA is not a billable diagnosis if the patient is not pregnant yet. How can I bill for this visit? Any thoughts?
