We have two Ortho APRN. They are wanting to do follow up's and visits with inpatients in the hospital setting. Can we (physician practice) bill for any services for them Consults, H & P's, Discharges? I realize since they are associated with the Orthopedic surgeon anything after surgery would be global. But not everything requires surgery. Thanks for any and all help.:)

If they have their own provider number you can bill the services under their number, but NOT the physicians. If the physician also sees the same patient face to face on the same day and writes his own progress note then you can bill under him. CR1776, issued in 2002 under shared encounter.
