Yes, you'll need to do the following in order to get all paid. Keep in mind that some payors don't want to pay the separate E/M but I typically send back to them that both encounters are supported and correct per documentation. Have you been advised by your team to code a new patient CPE and an est. patient E/M? The guidelines says to code both as new patient. Some facilities don't practice this, so talk to your superior about what their guidance would be.
