Can a negative be counted as HPI element? As in "He denies any recent trauma to the area"? Would that be considered "context"?

Associated Signs and Symptoms

I count negatives for Associated signs/symptoms. I would not usually count negatives in any other category. (for example if there was a statement "denies worsening" ... I wouldn't count that for severity).

Hope that helps.
