Hi all!

Should I bill out an E/M outside of the OB Global package if the provider is prescribing a medication just for suppression purposes? They have a history of genital HSV, have not had an outbreak in years, and are only prescribing a medication for suppression at 36 weeks. Other than this prescription, there are no complications to bill out. So I'm on the fence if this would just be considered bundled into global or if simply because there's a prescription ordered, it's billable?

i would think it's global....just like how it's standard to give antibiotics for gbs positive people at time of delivery......? but that's just my thoughts!
