I need some help understanding this. There are two different examples I keep running into where I am not sure which would be the correct coding:

sodium chloride 0.9% (NS) (BOLUS) injection 1000mL Start time 1340-1440 stopped
ONE TIME IV
Rate: 999mL/HR
Indications of use: Hypovolemia
*Should it be billed as hydration even if the note states it's for the treatment of hypovolemia? Or a therapeutic infusion since it's for the treatment of disease/disorder by remedial agents/methods?

I see a lot of Cisplatin infusions where they will infuse magnesium sulf + potassium before the infusion of Cisplatin and bill for 96367. Once the Cisplatin infusion is completed they will infuse sodium chloride (exactly like mentioned above) and I am wondering if this would qualify for an additional unit of 96367 since it's not for hydration? Or is it considered a integral part of the Cisplatin infusion and shouldn't be billed at all? HELP!
