I'm trying to understand how to code the add-on 96361 code for hydration. Example: All times documented. Total time 1 hr 17 min. Infused saline for 8 min, 3 IV pushes for a total time of 9 minutes, continued hydration for 61 minutes more (patient has medical diagnosis for hydration), total hydration time is 69 minutes. At what point do I bill the 96361 code? After the 1st 30 minutes, and then for each consecutive 60 minutes? I'm real unclear about the hydration portion. So far, my coding is: initial 96374x1 96375x2, and maybe 96361x1 (only 1 unit of 96361 because it exceeded 30 minutes but not 90 minutes of hydration). Is this correct? If not, please explain.
