We have a patient that was delivered via c-section for terminal fetal bradycardia. This was performed at 7:00 am. That afternoon around 2:00 pm she was taken back to the OR with pp hemorrhage. The physician performed a post partum D&C but she continued to bleed heavier so a decision was made to stop the D&C and proceed with a supracervical hysterectomy. Since the hysterectomy was not done at the same operating session as the c-section, would we still bill the 59525 or would we bill a 58180-78? Also would the D&C be coded as a 59160-78-53?
