Hello All,
Please share your thoughts for CPT code for HYSTERECTOMY, TOTAL, ROBOT-ASSISTED, LAPAROSCOPIC, WITH SALPINGO-OOPHORECTOMY (Bilateral)HYSTERECTOMY, TOTAL, ROBOT-ASSISTED, LAPAROSCOPIC, WITH SALPINGO-OOPHORECTOMY (Bilateral) <250mg.
Thank you for assisting.

Can you please post a redacted op note? And please look at pathology to see how many grams the uterus (and cervix and adnexal structures if included) weighed?
You can't decide on which lap hysterectomy code to use unless you read what the surgeon did and how and when......there are some really good posts in this forum under OB/GYN about hysterectomy coding questions maybe you should look at. You can search the lap. hysterectomy codes or spell it out in the search box.
Also, a good outline is the following:
But this outline still doesn't go into detail the difference between detaching everything through the laparoscope (the 58570....etc, series) and detaching through both the laparoscope and vagina (the 58550 series). It can be the difference based on just a couple sentences in the op report.
Hope this helps.

Total hysterectomy includes the cervix as well as the uterus with or without tube and/or ovaries. 58571 will cover it. Unfortunately, there is not a CPT for robotic assistance. However, a robotic TAH is a laparoscopic procedure.
