With united healthcare we billed out 58558 11/08/2023 and then did an ablataion using 58563 on 11/28/23 and it is denying stating number of units exceeds maximum acceptable units. There is no global period for the 58558. Should we have coded something different like maybe 58353

If the second procedure was performed using the hysteroscope, only 58563 would be appropriate to bill. The denial message makes no sense because as you say, 58558 has 0 global days. They must have some other type of edit in place. Perhaps they are looking for a modifier such as -58 (staged procedure for a more extensive procedure done during the postop period) - even though there is no postop period.
