A pt. goes to an Urgent Care facility - an I&D of an abscess is done. The next day the pt. returns to the Urgent Care facility for a recheck. An I&D is done once again on the same site. Is this 2nd procedure coded or is the global period in effect? I'm being told that since this is an outpatient facility owned by a hospital the global period does not apply.
