Our office usually purchases the ICD-9 books in October. Are the current ICD-10 books that are available to purchase from AAPC what will I need to purchase now? WIll the codes from ICD-10 not be effective until Oct 2014. THe current ICD-9-CM volume 12, will that be good until October 2014
 
My understanding is the current ICD-9 code set is under a code freeze, so I would think the 2013 book will cover you until ICD-10.
I have a 2012 ICD-10 book that is a draft version. ICD-10 codes cannot be submitted until October 2014.
