I am trying to find an ICD-10-CM code that can best describe "Insufficient endometrial tissue is present for evaluation" from Surgical Pathology. The closest thing I can find is R89.6 but that is still not really capturing the lack of cells. Does anyone have another code that would best describe this case?

The closest you will get is R87.89 Other abnormal findings in specimens from female genital organs as the specimen is from the uterine lining.

You could also consider using the signs/symptoms prompting the endometrial biopsy as insufficient tissue present is not really a definitive diagnosis.
