When a provider codes for a negative strep test, but code B08.5 for enteroviral vesicular pharyngitis, they have been using Z11.2, encounter for screening for other bacterial diseases. I'm getting denials for the use of Z11.2 for the negative strep test. Is J02.8 acceptable to use with the negative strep test and can I bill B08.5 with J02.8?
