Hi Everyone, Seeking clarification on the correct ICD-10-CM code for a diagnosed angiolipoma located on the forearm.

Would D17.22 (Benign lipomatous neoplasm of skin and subcutaneous tissue of arm) be appropriate ? Or should D17.79 (Benign lipomatous neoplasm of other sites) be used if the documentation as arm generally means upper arm ?

Has anyone come across AHA Coding Clinic guidance or had similar cases? I’d appreciate any references or insights from your experience.

Thanks in advance!

I d use D17.22 since it gives the body location(arm). The other dx is not specific. I hope helped you

Yes Arm is entire extremity that is why we split to define the location as Upper Part of Arm as Upper arm, Lower Part as Lower arm. So Arm can be picked with Laterality.
