I have a question regarding the description of dx for icd 10 vs icd 9. I work for a surgical center in south jersey and my question is should the physicians office be changing the dx description ie: 724.8 facet syndrome ( which can be found under syndrome- facet in the front of the icd 9 book ) to what it should be for icd 10 panniculitis ? They are still using the old verbage from the 9 code description when booking ie: Lumbar facet syndrome. When i looked in the new 10 book you can no longer look up syndrome - facet. Is this worth losing sleep over as i am going to use the correct code and the description that populates anyway. We want to get everyone on board and educated properly so they don't fall back on old habits.

Any thoughts would be helpful since we are basically educating them.
