4.8 cm hematoma in the subchorionic area deep to the placenta. Does any one know what the correct icd-9 code is? Thanks

Hi Karen,

We could code with 658.8X - Other problems associated with amniotic cavity and membranes. If it is traumatic, then go with injury, internal (867.X).

Hope this helps you.

Thank You,

Yes Debra,

For traumatic code, we need to first code with other complications of pregnancy and then with 867.X. I missed it in my previous post as i was concentrating more on the non-traumatic code - 658.8X.

Thanks for the reply and I hope Karen is now clarified on the thread.

Thank You and Have a Great Day!
