A patient in nursing facility bit another patient. What ICD-9 would you use for the biter?
Any help would be appreciated.:)
 
You would have to query the doctor for a diagnois for the patient's(biter) behavior and that is what you would code. For example: The doctor could write,"Adjustment disorder" then you would use a code from the (309) codes.
