If I am coding for a patient that is admitted on 09/29/15 and discharged 10/05/15 do I code ICD-9 or ICD-10?
 
For professional claims you will need to split the charges on separate 1500 forms as DX is by DOS.

If its a facility bill, UB will be coded in I10 since discharge date is 10/1 or after.
