Colonoscopy with polypectomy
1 code or 2?

45.42 Endoscopic polypectomy of large intestine
Does this code describe only the "method" of the polypectomy or does it also include a full colonoscopy? Should 45.23 Colonoscopy be coded in addition?

Is there a source to clarify such questions?

The 45.42 is the colonoscopy as well by use of the word endoscopic, this implies that a colonoscopy was also performed, the approach ( colonoscopy) cannot be coded additional once a definitive procedure via that approach has also been coded.
