We had a patient in the ER that we were called to do an interrogation of their ICD. When we did the interrogation we ended up cardioverting the patient back into normal rhythm. Would you use the normal interrogation code or how would you code this? Thank in advance.

I would use the normal interrogation code. The "reason" for the procedure was to perform interrogation. The fact that the patient went back into normal sinus rhythm was a stroke of luck, but performing this procedure was not meant as an attempt to get back into normal rhythm. It was meant to gather information to make sure the device was working properly.
