Wiki ICD9 code for STD Screenings

Hi Everyone-

Our Clinic has been using ICD9 V74.5 for STD screening-
and now our system comes up with an edit flag with this dx-Does anyone know of a
better diagnosis ?--Thanks,Rebecca

You can use V73.89 for HIV/other viral STDs.

For general STD screening (no symptoms), we use V74.5 for bacterial & spirochetal STDs and V73.89 for HIV/other viral STDs.

We also use V74.5 but it also depends on the STD. For example a chlym/gon I would use V73.98 and V73.99 respectively or for HIV V73.89.
