Could someone tell me what code replaced 90669 ( prevnar) ?

We use 90670 for Prevnar 13.

thank you --is this what you use for children, I always thought that 90670 was for adults over 50

I apologize for not being specific. We see more adults than children, so I automatically think of CPT 90670, Prevnar 13, that we use for our adults. According to AAPC Coder, 90670 is indicated for children; however, hopefully someone who bills pneumonia vaccines for children will respond and confirm which CPT code they use.

90669 was deleted along with many other vaccine codes eff 1/1/16 since the vaccines they report have been off the market for so long you shouldn't have any supply left. Are you sure 90669 was the correct code in the fist place?

90670

I use 90670 no matter the age of the patient. Code description does not reference patient age.

I code a large amount of immunizations and 90670 is the correct code for Prevnar 13 no matter what age. 90732 in the correct code for Pneumovax 23 given to adults. Many of the immunizaton codes did change. I hope this helps.
