Patient had an incarcerated abdominal herina with fat. Doc did a resection of incarcerated fat and repair if herina with mesh . Would cpt code 49561 and 49568 be a good choice /
 
I don't think the word 'abdominal' is enough information to code on. It could be many types of hernias and be in the abdomen.
 
Lesaics is right in asking for the terminology /type of hernia; abdominal is a diffuse term for code selection. it should have been a 'Ventral hernia' (most of the ventral hernias are at abdominal site) and if it is true for your case , then it is Ventral Hernia which meets the requirements of Mesh provision to be reported separately as the incisional hernia.
