Can a nurse practitioner bill “incident to” based on time? I have a scenario where a patient met with an oncologist who established the plan of care. The patient is to next meet with an NP who will provide chemotherapy counseling. Can she bill an office visit incident to based on time for this service (> 50% of time will be spent counseling)? Thanks and please provide a source.
