Hi all,

I need to know if a psychiatrist(MD) can sign a therapist's (LCSW) clinical note for incident to billing?

The physician can sign the note, but that doesn’t make it an ‘incident to’ service. All of the requirements would still need to met before the LCSW’s services could be billed with the MD’s credentials as ‘incident to’.

It would be suspect as an LCSW can bill under their own NPI
