Need opinions on how some of you are coding lower extremity x-rays for toddlers. We cannot use 73592 sine they are not infants. The hospital is able to get the entire leg on one film. Here is an example:
Two views of the left lower extremity are performed. The bony structures are within normal limtis, showing no evidence of acute fracture or dislocation. No evidence of significant degenerative or inflammatory change is noted. The overlying sof tissue shadows are also unremarkable.
The hospital doesnt think it is appropriate to charge a femur, tib/fib, knee, and ankle. What do you all think? Thank you
