Hello - we are having a discussion at work regarding the codes for polyarthritis (M13.-) versus inflammatory polyarthritis (M06.-). If provider states inflammatory arthritis, what are we looking for in the documentation to substantiate inflammatory polyarthritis? Is it appropriate to select code for polyarthritis when multiple joints are affected? etc. We cannot locate a coding clinic guideline on these codes. Any assistance is appreciated!!!
