I was wondering if anyone is using modifiers on immunization when state supplied verses when you buy and bill? I was told to use 22 when you buy and bill but have also researched and it looks as though I'm suppose to be putting a modifier on the state supplied vaccines.

Is it a children's vaccine? In New Mexico we use modifier VC with our state supplied vaccines. Unless it is a Tricare insurance and in that case we use SL modifier. May depend on your state guidelines.

If you are trying to bill your state Medicaid, I would call them and ask them. Or call one of your provider reps from an insurance company and they should be able to help you. Different states have different rules when it comes to state paid vaccines
