Infusion & office visit

Good morning

I am new to the Hematology/Oncology for pediatrics and I need some help in regards to the following scenario. Any help with resources would be great.

I do billing for the physicians using pos 22. Provider checks patient before treatment and deems ok for infusion. May treat for nausea or anemia prior to treatment. Then doctor may see patient after the treatment.

Can an E&M service be billed? Would everything related to infusion need removed to count? Hospital is billing 96401.

Thank you so much for any assistance for are able to give and any resources.

I would say if all he did was evaluate the patient for the therapy I would say this is not billable. If the physician did anything outside of the therapy eval then I would bill the office visit with a 25 modifier.
