My physician is asking if a pt is admitted and seen by the resident only, then the following day he reads over the resident's notes and sees the patient and signed the progress notes. Can he bill for an initial hospital visit on the day of admission, or the next day that he saw the patient? Thank you:confused:
 
DOS is day provider SAW the patient

The date of service is the date the provider actually saw the patient.
