I have an initial hospital consultation in which the dr drained a scrotal abcess. Are we able to bill for the drainage of the scrotal abcess? If so what codes do I use?

Thanks in advance.

Look at 55100 for incision and drainage of a scrotal wall abscess. There is also a note (See also 54700). Both have a 10 day global so with supporting documentation that the decision for the procedure was made during the E/M, whether it be a consult or initial inpatient visit, append modifier -25 to E/M.
