Can anyone verify when exactly to use CPT 96119? I've always been under the impression that this code was used for the initial assessment, to determine what testing, if any, should be performed. Therefore this code would always be billed for every patient, for the first eval. I've just recently been told by someone that they only bill this code if it is determined that testing will not be done.

Any help is greatly appreciated!
