baby born Tuesday and was evaluated with a physician who billed 99460(Initial hospital or birthing center care, per day, for evaluation and management of normal newborn infant). on Wednesday the second day, another physician from different practice evaluated baby for first time. does this provider bill again 99460 since he;s seeing baby first time? or does he bill as subsequent visit?

I thought 'first time seeing the patient, initial code', but did find a medi-cal reimbursement book that says 99460 would only be covered once regardless how many providers saw the baby. It may be different for other carriers.
