I am a new coder working in orthopedic office. Working on case where the patient had an ORIF for medial tibial platea fracture a year ago. She is having removal of internal fixation due to pain from the hardware. Is the complication code "initial" since this is the initial treatment for that. Or would it be codes as sequelea??
This is how I am thinking of coding:

T84.84XA- Pain due to internal orthopedic prosthetic devices, implants and grafts; initial encounter

S82.141D Displaced bicondylar fracture of right tibia; subsequent encounter for closed fracture with routine healing

CPT: 20680-RT
