Am I correct in stating if a patient comes in to clinic with his/her own drug/medication, an injection administration code can not be billed as the code for the drug would not be billed?

Incorrect. You can still bill the admin code. If you are getting rejections, try billing the j-code with a zero charge.

When we do this, we have to bill the J code with a charge of $0.01 because our software doesn't allow for $0.00 charge.
