Does anyone know what is going on with J2001(lidocaine inj)? Having a hard time with getting them paid when billed with other injections (20610). Is it an included procedure or does it require a modifier or is it that insurance companies will not pay for numbing agents since you are getting poked anyway? :) :confused:
 
we have always considered them as part of a global package. whether you are coding sutures or an injection. we haven't had an occasion to code them separately.
