We have chemo patients that come into the office to make sure that they are clear for inpatient chemo, once the provider deems that they are good for admission they are sent to the hospital to be admitted (not a direct admit). The provider then does not round on the patient in the hospital until the next day. I am suggesting Bill an office visit for day 1 and the initial hospital with AI modifier for day 2. I have found all kinds of conflicting information on this and need to get to the bottom of it. Thanks in advance.
