Can someone help me decide how to bill out providers when they are called to the ER, the decision to admit is made but the hospital does not admit them to Inpatient status until after midnight? Since the inpatient does not start until after midnight, does the provider get to bill for the Outpatient visit in addition to the Inpatient admit for the following day? Is there documentation out there on this situation?
