Hi, is there someone out there in billing/coding that could guide me on this issue. We are a Critical Access Hospital, and we are I-10 dual code testing. Now if there is a Medicare pt. Admitted on 9-27-15 and Discharged 10-5-15... they have a colonoscopy done on 9-28-15 (which is a I-9 procedure code) then on 10-2-15 they have a Colon Resection (which is a I-10 PCS). Would you or would you not submit 2 claims to Medicare... one for your September dates of service with your I-9 procedure and then one with your I-10 diagnosis with your PCS code.

I know if it is a Observation patient and they span the Date of Admission and Discharge you separate out the claim...
