Wiki Inpatient Consult Visits

I have a physician who wants to send his PA to the hospital on the weekends when a consultation is requested for a patient. The physician is not there so we cannot send the claims as if the PA's were supervised. Does anyone have any help on this situation?

The only option is to submit the claims using the PA NPI number in field 24J as the rendering provider. the provider did not perform the evaluation and you cannot bill incident -to in the facility setting. If the PA does not have an NPI or if they are not credentialed then you will not be paid. If your state does not allow PAs to practice without over the shoulder supervision then you have much bigger issues.
