With all the new changes to the outpatient and observation codes I'm getting confused with the initial inpatient consults, and the subsequent inpatient care if time is not documented.
Do I still count points for complexity for initial?
I know they did away with the old Medicare audit sheet and I'm confused how to code the initial and subsequent for inpatient.
Is it a medically appropriate history and examination then counting points?

Starting 1/1/2023, all E&M services are leveled by MDM only (with the current MDM definitions) or time (excluding ER), whichever works in your favor. The history and exam are not used for leveling.
