I have a doctor and nurse working palliative care in the inpatient setting. The doctor does the admit and a prolonged visit (99223+99356). On the second day the NP sees the patient, focusing on the terminal diagnosis.

Question 1:
Does NP need to do a palliative care consult or can they do a follow up?

Question 2:
Can doctor and the NP both see the patient on the same day for palliative care?
