When billing for an inpatient psychiatric visit we have a psychologist on staff who generally does all of the admits. In this instance the psychologist did not perform the visit as the patient left the hospital so no admitting psycholigical exam was done. However, the MD on staff did perform a medical exam. Can we use the MDs diagnosis on the on the UB? Also, when there is a psycholigical exam done on the same day as a medical exam, at different times, can they both be billed on the same day and how would that be billed.

Thanks.
