Is there anyone out there who thinks that inpatient coding is much easier than outpatient coding or vice versa? I would like any opinions as to why you think one is easier than the other.
 
Outpatient is easier...generally

I have physicians that do both inpatient and outpatient. My personal preference is outpatient. Maybe this is just the setup we are in but inpatient is mostly handwritten and there are so many people involved there is a lot of information to search thru to find what you really need.

On the outpaitent side most of my physicians are dictating and everything is much more straightforward and right there.
