Hoping I could get some assistance of a coding question. I am taking my CPC course now so still learning. My physician along with a co-surgeon performed surgery on a patient. Patient was infected on his original hip. No prosthetic or implant was in place but patient had multiple surgeries with insertion of wires, screws, etc. During the surgery the femoral head was removed along with the hardware and hip bone. An antibiotic spacer was placed for meantime. My Physician coded surgery as 27091-22,and 27122-59. The other co-surgeon wants to code as 20680-59, 27122, 20245-59. I understand both rationales however there was never an implant or prosthetic in place since patient had his original hip despite multiple surgeries before. Any coding guidance would be greatly appreciated. I am assuming I also have to add modifier 62 for co-surgeon to the claim. Thanks
